Labor Day Weekend '09

This Labor Day weekend was different for us because we stayed home and did not go floating with the barbershoppers and Pap at Meramec State Park. That is a totally fun trip, but I just didn't have the energy for it this year after such a crazy summer and with classes now getting into full swing.

That doesn't mean, though, that we didn't have fun. We took an afternoon road trip to see some of the sights in Oklahoma and had a great time!

Yes, that is a McDonald's - a premier McDonald's attraction. It sits over Highway 44 and was once the largest McDonald's in the world. The kids were very excited about visiting.

And this is (arguably) the largest totem pole in the whole world. Luckily, it is only a relatively short drive from the giant McDonald's. It was actually very striking and interesting.

I'm told that Oklahoma has even more exciting tourist attractions, but, in many ways, these will be hard to beat.
