The best of the rest - Summer Vacation '08

Hi! I am back!
As you probably know, I took a job this fall. I am working as an Inclusion Aid at the Carl Junction High School. It is a great job, but I am not at all used to working full time and taking care of this household. Thus my long blog absence. I'll have to make quick work of the rest of our trip....

On our way home, we drove right past Penn State (well, close enough). We couldn't resist stopping by for a few hours at such a special, sentimental place. Our kids had never been there before.

Yeah, Alex, we love the Nittany Lion, too.

We also went to the Diner for stickie buns. I guess Alex does look a lot like me after all.

These were some of the best times of the whole trip. I planned and planned for this trip, but sometimes the best things are the things that we don't plan. Maybe next year I won't plan so much (but maybe I will...you know me...change is hard, even with pictures like this to inspire me.)

We hopped in the car, back to Ohio and a short visit with the Ulshes. Celeste took us the pool. All four cousins love to swim, as you can see. Looks like Celeste likes it, too.

Too bad we don't get to see them more often. Maybe I should try and sell Celeste on the dynamic vacation opportunities available in Joplin?
